Job Description:

• Under the general supervision of the Food Service Manager, helps with preparation, cooking, serving of a variety of foods in quantity, helps maintain and clean of all serving equipment and the kitchen; helps inventory equipment and food supplies on hand.
• Conform to School, food and nutrition and health department policies.
• Ability to learn and understand the regulatory requirements of the National School Lunch and Breakfast program.
• Obtain a valid Food Handlers Card.
• Have the ability to perform vigorous physical work and to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, choppers, steam tables, ovens, etc. As needed.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans, equipment’s, kitchen utensils, and work area cleanup
• Set-up and cleanup food serving lines, food bars, etc.
• Transport food to another locations and organize food distribution
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school staff and students.
• Ability to be flexible
• Have excellent customer service
• Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Hours: Part-Time, 30 Hours in a work week

Qualifications:

Experience:
• Experience and training through a responsible position in a food service program to demonstrate
• Experience in institutional, restaurant or school kitchen environment
• The knowledge and abilities listed below

Knowledge of:
• Advance training in food preparation in a large-scale operation
• Nutritional requirements for healthy child development
• Basic food safety and sanitation practices; food borne diseases
• USDA Dietary Guidelines

Other:
• The school conducts Federal and local criminal background checks pursuant to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (25CFR34) and Public Law 101-630
