Description
The Apache Language Teacher is responsible for providing Apache Language instruction directly through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments. Teachers may be assigned as classroom teachers or specialized teachers including:
• Apache Language Teachers planning and delivering instruction, evaluating individual student progress, and implementing Individual Education Plans appropriate to the student population including differentiated curriculum to address learning styles, behavior problems, and students with special needs
• Determines instruction techniques, strategies, and methods utilizing an appropriate scope and sequence of Apache language development based on grade level
• Implements Apache Language curriculum including determination of instructional resource use and delivery
• Supports classroom teachers in the incorporation of Apache Language into other content areas when appropriate
• Evaluates student behavior and performance including attendance and other record keeping; supervises students in school settings and provides feedback to parents, counselors, administrators, and health providers
• Prepares classrooms and other educational settings for instruction and coaching including creating bulletin boards, storing materials and disassembling and cleaning as necessary
• Participates in all required Professional Development activities and attends school and district meetings as required
• Other Duties as assigned
Reports to the Principal
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or post bachelor degree is required
• AZ Teacher Certification or eligible to obtain AZ certification
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Compliance with applicable No Child Left Behind “highly qualified” standard within one year
• Appropriate endorsements may be required depending on area of instruction;
• Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, rules, regulations, recommendations, codes, and statutes;

Other Requirements
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
