Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This is a position involving the planning and implementation of an individual school meal program,
recommends the ordering of cafeteria supplies and equipment and the supervision of the cafeteria employees.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Assumes responsibility for food preparation, serving of food, scheduling of employees, arranging and facilitating inservice meetings, evaluates employees, maintaining inventory and menu records. Reviews job performance with Principal of food service aides.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Directs food service in preparation of cooked and baked foods.
- Supervises employees.
- Directs kitchen routine
- Maintains menu records
- Keeps inventory records
- Recommends orders supplies and equipment
- Evaluates cafeteria employees
- Sets up periodic in service meetings
- Shall follow the approved menus


Reports to the Superintendent
Requirements
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of two years experience in a food service operation plus at least one year of experience directing such an operation. One year food service education may be substituted for one year of supervisory experience. The position requires a high level of kitchen (cooking and baking) competency and supervisory ability. Basic knowledge of typing and bookkeeping procedures is extremely helpful.
Shall possess food handler's permit.
Shall ensure healthful conditions maintained.
