Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher. As a Substitute Teacher, you
will fill in for regular classroom teachers during their absence and are responsible for
maintaining a safe and productive classroom. This role requires flexibility, strong classroom
management skills and the ability to follow lesson plans and adapt quickly to different classroom
settings and age groups.
Duties and responsibilities
● Implement lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher
● Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior in accordance with school
policies.
● Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including lunch, recess, and transitions
● Record attendance and communicate any issues to school administration
● Leave written notes for the returning teacher summarizing the day’s activities and any
incidents
● Follow all school procedures and policies, including safety and emergency protocols
● Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of students when necessary
● Provide a supportive and respectful classroom environment for all learners

Qualifications
● Associates Degree or Higher required
● Valid state substitute teaching/or emergency teaching certification or license
● Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred
● Excellent communication and organizational skills
● Ability to manage a classroom and ensure student engagement
● Flexibility to work on short notice and in various grade levels or subjects
Working Conditions
● Must be available on-call during school hours
● May be assigned to different schools or grade levels
● Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light physical activity (e.g.,
walking, bending)
